Rebecca Plummer

Rebecca Plummer, one of Boston’s leading free lance artists, began her musical training at an early age, showing exception talent at the age of 4. Having studied with teachers in England and Taiwan, she later received degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and Boston University. She also attended the summer program at Tanglewood as a chamber pianist, where she studied with the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s chamber pianist, Gilbert Kalish.


Both a solo pianist and accompanist, she has displayed her versatility in Boston playing with many groups, including the Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston Ballet Orchestra, Alea III, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Symphony New Hampshire and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. Her many chamber music performances include concerts with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she is a leading synthesizer player in the pit orchestras of the touring Broadway shows that come to Boston.


Rebecca has served as a faculty member at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Phillips Exeter Academy and is currently on the faculty of Phillips Andover Academy and maintains a private studio in her home.

Rebecca Plummer is one of Boston’s leading free-lance artists and has a wide range of performing experiences from chamber music with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra to playing synthesizer with touring Broadway shows. A graduate of Boston University, she has distinguished herself not only as a performer but also asa teacher and an accompanist. Rebecca maintains a teaching position at the Manchester Community Music School and has a private studio as well. She is also a former faculty member of the Longy School in Cambridge, Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
